The Deal with Dicamba: Staff Attorney Brigit Rollins is continuing her blog article series dissecting the various lawsuits concerning the chemical herbicide known as dicamba. This month she has published parts three and four. Part Three of the series analyzes state law failure to warn claims made by the plaintiffs, while Part Four looks at the various civil conspiracy claims. What’s in a Name? Laws & Regulations Governing Alternative Protein Labels: Our most recent webinar, presented by Senior Staff Attorney Elizabeth Rumley, discussed the complicated legal landscape of alternative protein labeling. This webinar covered the basics of food labeling in the alternative protein context, as well as current events such as recently passed state laws regulating the labeling of certain products within those states, as well as the status of those laws after legal challenges. - Senior Staff Attorney Rusty Rumley gave a presentation discussing heir property at the Rural Life Conference at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
- Rusty also traveled to Nebraska to present at the Agritourism & Adventure Travel Workshop, where he discussed legal liability in agritourism with a specific look at Nebraska’s agritourism statutes.
- Center Director Harrison Pittman traveled to Arlington, Virginia to participate in the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture 2020 Winter Policy Conference.
