Whether you’re researching estate planning, pesticide regulation, or water law, the National Agricultural Law Center’s Reading Rooms have you covered, offering a centralized hub for reliable information on dozens of agricultural and environmental law topics.

Each NALC Reading Room includes a general overview of the specific topic and a collection of legal and policy materials, including key statutes, regulations, case law, and relevant publications.

“Our Reading Rooms are a gateway to credible, comprehensive, and regularly updated agricultural law information,” said NALC Director Harrison Pittman. “They serve as a go-to resource for anyone trying to get up to speed on a specific issue — whether that’s water law, right-to-farm statutes, food labeling, environmental compliance, or numerous other issues.”

The NALC Reading Rooms can be accessed at nationalaglawcenter.org/research-by-topic and are always free of charge.

With dozens of Reading Rooms covering a wide variety of agricultural topics, users can quickly find content relevant to the issues they care about. Each Reading Room is maintained and updated by NALC staff attorneys and research fellows, who track legal and policy changes at the federal and state levels year-round.

“The strength of the Reading Rooms is that they bring together practical, up-to-date information in a format that’s accessible to a wide audience,” Pittman said. “Whether you’re an attorney looking for key regulations or a farmer learning about new policy developments, these resources are designed to meet that need.”

In addition to Reading Rooms, the NALC offers a wide range of resources, including fact sheets, webinars, newsletters, and a library of research publications.
