LEGISLATIVE: Includes Louisiana, New Hampshire

LOUISIANA

HB 758 establishes a definition of “performance-based sampling” and exempts licensees approved by the state’s department of agriculture and forestry for performance-based sampling from the department’s pre-harvest sample collection. Info here.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

HB 1005 establishes a commission to study the state of the existing low-grade timber and market economy and new and emerging markets for low-grade timber and wood products. Info here.

HB 314 adjusts the maximum annual gross sales of food by a homestead food operation that determines exemption from licensure and departmental inspection from $20,000 to $35,000. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE

Notice announcing FWS received an application from Monroe County for a renewal of incidental take permit (ITP) under the Endangered Species Act. If granted, the expiration date of the existing ITP, which authorizes take of the Florida Key deer, the Lower Keys marsh rabbit, and the eastern indigo snake incidental to commercial and residential construction in Monroe County, Florida, would be extended for an additional 3 years. FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICE
