JUDICIAL: Includes Labor and Employment

Judy Jien, et al., v. Perdue Farms, Inc., et al., No. 1:19-cv-02521-ELH (D. Md. August 30, 2019) was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Perdue, Tyson, Pilgrim’s Pride and 15 other poultry-processing giants were accused of conspiring to suppress wages. The complaint alleges that a series of secret meeting took place at a Florida resort beginning in 2009 where top executives of companies that control 90% of the U.S. chicken market agreed on wage rates for thousands of processing employees.
