Mark Camarigg has been the Communications and Special Project Coordinator at the NALC since 2016.  In that role, he has been the main blog contributor and author of the daily update, while also coordinating our social media.  Mark’s last day at the Center is today, and we’d like to take a moment to thank him and wish him well in his future endeavors!

Mark is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and the University of California at Berkeley. Before joining the NALC, he worked as Manager of Publications at the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. Mark chaired the Center’s annual Blues Symposium and published the bi-monthly Living Blues magazine. He also lectured on blues music history and co-edited Blues Unlimited: Essential Interviews from the Original Blues Magazine published by University of Illinois Press in 2015. He is co-editor of the Living Blues Books Series, an imprint of University of Illinois Press.  Prior to his work at the Center, Mark practiced law in California focusing on the self-storage industry and real estate and construction issues. He is licensed to practice law in California and Mississippi.  He lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and two young sons.

While he’ll be hard to replace, we have temporary folks in place to continue publishing the daily update and share news and resources on social media while we transition to another full-time Center staffer.  A job announcement will be published soon.
