With the recent consumer focus on locally-grown foods, many farmers and food entrepreneurs are trying to expand their markets by creating and selling commercially processed food.  The National Agricultural Law Center is partnering with the University of Arkansas Food Innovation Center to host a workshop Wednesday, May 18 in Fayetteville, AR.

The Food Innovation Center is a fully-equipped service center for food product development and processing and is part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. It helps small and mid-size agricultural producers and entrepreneurs utilize specialty crops for value-added products in local food systems.

Workshop participants will explore the process of taking a product from concept to the commercial market as well as the fundamentals of starting a food processing business. Five workshop participants will be selected on a competitive basis to receive personalized assistance with commercializing their product at the Arkansas Food Innovation Center.
