House and Senate Agriculture Committee leaders announced today that the first official meeting for the 2013 Farm Bill conference committee is set for Wednesday, October 30 at 1 p.m. ET in the Longworth House Office Building, according to an Agri-Pulse article available here.
The agenda for the meeting will include opening statements and discussions of both the Senate and House farm bills. For a list of conferees, recent posts from this blog are available hereand here.
Lawmakers hope this meeting is the beginning of the end of a lengthy process that has “dragged on” since 2010, and which was supposed to wrap up in mid-2012, according to an article by The Hill, available here.
