Notice announcing that the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has submitted Amendment 53 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico for review, approval, and implementation. If approved, Amendment 53 would modify the allocation of Gulf red grouper catch between the commercial and recreational sectors, specify a new overfishing limit and acceptable biological catch, and revise sector annual catch limits and annual catch targets.
