Looking Ahead: Impact of the 2024 Elections on Ag Law and Policy

“Change” will be the word most likely to describe 2025 as the effects of the 2024 election take hold across Congress and the Executive Branch. New members of Congress, Republican control of Congress and the White House, agency appointees, unfinished legislation, new priorities and likely wild-card issues all stack up to make 2025 and the years ahead immensely impactful for agricultural law and policy. This webinar will look at these issues, discuss the people who have and may join the Trump Administration, discuss the path forward for farm bill reauthorization and discuss other changes across government that will influence food, agricultural and environmental law for years to come.

You will hear:

Hunt Shipman, Principal & Director, Cornerstone Government Affairs 

With over three decades of experience in Washington, Hunt has held a variety of positions in government and the private sector. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Hunt was a senior executive for the largest trade association serving the food and beverage industry, where he led the association’s government affairs and communications programs. Over a span of 12 years in government, Hunt served as Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture, Staff Director of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry and as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Committee on Appropriations. He began his government service on the personal staff of Senator Thad Cochran. A native of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Hunt is a graduate of Mississippi State University and he and his wife reside in Falls Church, Virginia.
